Manirahari recounted his difficult past, which led him to the streets of Nyabugogo. Suffering from a neglected wound that became infected and a lack of resources, he turned to substance abuse. His life took a turn when he encountered a pastor who brought him and four other young men to the Teen Challenge center in Kamonyi.

At the center, Manirahari received medical attention for his leg wound, which had resisted traditional and hospital treatments, costing his family nearly three million Rwandan francs. He also underwent rehabilitation for his addiction, learning about faith and vocational skills. He credits the program with helping him embrace Christianity and find a new purpose.

Teen Challenge Rwanda, led by Bishop François Kamana, aims to support young people facing various challenges, including lack of education, moral guidance, and substance abuse. The center provides vocational training, life skills, and spiritual guidance, with the goal of rehabilitating individuals to become productive members of society. The ministry has assisted over 200 individuals from Rwanda and neighboring countries, with around 20 currently in their care.
